I am now starting to care

I can’t believe what’s happening on my face. If not pimples, wind burns! Ugh! Look at this one, it’s so obvious. That night I wasn’t so confident on my power pouter because of the stupid wind burn. But thank god it’s halloween because at least it appeared as if it’s part of the costume… like I was some kinda pussycat vampire who just drank mouth-dripping blood.

Aside from stress, maybe this contributed too to the pimple outbreak on my face:

My set of makeup brushes.

Maybe my old set was just too damn dirty already that my face was sending me a message to clean them up. I’d been so unhygienic. I only clean them once in a blue moon.

That’s why starting last month I made a promise to myself to clean my brushes as often as possible. It’s advisable to clean them weekly. But since I moist my brushes with water before applying eye shadow on, I think it would be best to clean them right after use. Most of the time I forget to clean them up coz I would always rush. But when I return I make it a point to clean them. If not everyday, maybe every other day, or just any day that would still be identified with the word “regularly”.

I promised to treat my makeup brushes like babies. I use shampoo to clean them up. They’re not my dream MAC brushes but they’re still made of delicate hair. So cleaning them up would just be like cleaning my own hair. And then brush them afterwards. Yes, brush for makeup brushes. This is to retain the shapes. Then dry them up lying down on a special towel made only for them. :) I’m so environment-unfriendly, I use tissues…

Good hair, good brushes… and I hope I will get my good face back again. Oh vanity!

Dreaming about a *REAL* Branded Bag

I know I’ve been posting mostly links about something and something, you know, it’s been very busy these days. I couldn’t organize my mind properly. Most “interesting” stuffs about me, I blurted out mainly during travel from my home to office or vice versa… and you wouldn’t really wanna hear about them anyway.

Recently I post mostly about fashion and beauty stuffs. Though I’m not in any way an expert to any of those subjects, they still interest me. An enthusiast, I suppose, is my classification.

And recently, I find myself dreaming about owning a real branded bag. I don’t know what drove me into dreaming about that. Maybe it was the culture here. I saw these Japanese women (and even men!) donning an LV… and almost all office girls have branded ones. I could see that LV is the common one, Coach, then Burberry, Chanel. And not to mention my lucky pinay friends here who are either managers or heiresses  , who had somehow influenced me, and gave me a crash course on how to look on a fake and a real one (yeah call me a loser I won’t know if it’s fake or not, most of the time… because I never ever really owned one).

You know those stores- Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, Prada stores… I usually don’t enter those stores (and actually didn’t care) because I knew I won’t be able to buy their real stuffs anyway. But now, I feel that it’s time. I know I still can’t buy them… yet… But I’m dreaming now… and hoping that I will own one someday.

… and actually imagining that day when I hold a real one… for myself. Must be bliss :D

As part of my dreaming, I thought about buying a second-hand… you know, just to own a real one. So I waited for Angel Locsin’s Designer bags bazaar and hope that it would still be ongoing till I go home. It started now, as part of Ondoy-relief programs. Angel Locsin, Kris Aquino, and more stars participated,

They’re all second-hand, and in good condition I guess… And if you buy one, you help millions! :D

The reality is, maybe it would still remain in my dreams (oh irony). I have some things far more important to spend on to. Priorities again.

That’s life, I’m just too whiney. :P

Cosmo Closet

Remember that Closet system in Clueless? … some system that Alicia’s character Cher uses for wardrobe selection (she chose a yellow combo for school on that particular scene).

It might have ignited my love for computer science that time. Since, I dreamed about creating my own same system. :D

Anyway, I had fun browsing the new Cosmo website. It’s like home away from home, you know I collected Cosmo magazines for like 8 years already… And staying in Tokyo quite stopped my magazine fetish temporarily, because now I buy the real stuffs I see on magazines, sort of.

This is the fun part of the new and overhauled Cosmo website:

My same old wishing self is still wishing I could do something like this. You know, extract screenshots of the clothes and dresses etc of fashion shops, get their prices, and then create a nude (not porny :P ) model where I could try the clothes on…

I could imagine how I would do it. It would be a huge system. I might include makeup too.

All I need (as always) is time.

This is another project in the making…

Going Mineral

Yes I’m still alive. Super busy but alive.

I’m back to the busyness. Back to my disposable chinawares ;) disposable china for breakfast, dinner and lunch because I don’t have the time again to wash the dishes. And I don’t want to hassle my roommate doing the dishes for me again. Even ironing of my hankies… I do it every morning before office! .. because I don’t have the time. Hayz.

Been working and studying non-stop. Gotta hurry up since I’m going home anytime soooon! So I have to be ready anytime.

During the weekends, I go somewhere else to study. Since my home seems not so conducive for studying during the weekends. So I go to my party places… to study! :) How about this, “I went to Roppongi today to study!”… wherein it’s supposed to be, “I went to Roppongi today to party.” .. how time changed…

But I still party :) Still the same… study by day.. party by night. Can’t take that away from my system eh… Motto in life: Work hard. PARTY HARDER! :)

Anyway, I also still have time to shop. I’m so irresponsible – I have time to party and shop but no time to wash the dishes.

I bought my first mineral makeup from Maybelline… Maybe the minerals will help me get my face back. Since it’s full of pimples as of this moment. :(

Besides, I’m now starting to buy stuffs for mum. You know, my mother is expecting a lot of Japanese-brand cosmetics from me. And last time I went home, I wasn’t able to bring a lot for her because I ended up panic shopping, so I forgot a lot and prioritized what was needed to be bought for home.

Now, I have a better strategy, I’m going to the stores almost every week to start filling up my imaginary balikbayan boxes. :) Mum would be so happy. But everytime I buy something for her, I always end up buying something for me too <and sometimes I always test the products first hehehe>

I’m very irresponsible… but here’s the thing, I need to be proud of myself nonetheless. Because I never used my credit cards for a year already. I’m so proud! :D

Happy Silver Week!

A very happy indeed! And I got my happy silver too! Meet my new Baby…

My Ameko Box
:)

Open Sesame!

It’s a Makeup box. :) It’s two times bigger than my dream Mac Box.. and three times cheaper!

I was accompanying my turista friends souvenir shopping at Ueno when we chanced upon this bargain bag store wherein all bags are priced 3,150 yen. All of the bags in the store have the same price. As in all of them! Even those with prices of over 10,000 yen! My friend bought a Tommy Hilfiger laptop bag, and she said, one look at the bag – it was love at first sight. It was very tempting to buy something because the bags were really cheap, and they’re of good quality. But I was holding my impulsive self, repeatedly murmuring, “I don’t need a new bag”. I said I could just go back anytime anyway. I was very happy because I successfully walked out of the store with nothing on my hand. Until at the corner of the exit, I saw the makeup box. It was love at first sight. :)

Silver Week is a 5 day holiday in Japan (Sat-Sun-Mon-Tue-Wed) for three consecutive Japanese National Holidays. There’s also Golden Week in May, also a 5-day holiday. They celebrate it every year. I’m just not sure how it was planned (sometimes it’s not consecutive days). This year, we got lucky because these perfect “weeks” turned out to be consecutive long weekends.

“Ameko” came from “Ameyokocho”, it’s the place where I bought the makeup case. Naming lifeless stuffs for no reason is just my thing, OK!

Shiny Red Circles

I bought this pimple cream/ointment/whatever in an attempt to get rid of these shiny red lumpy small circles systematically appearing on my face. Sure it did help a little by hindering the red big circle on my nose from getting bigger. But they’re still there. I discontinued using the cream after a week because it’s quite strong. It might make situations worst.

It’s like pimple season. After spending 900+ yen for the cream, I could not do anything anymore… but this. Whine.

Perhaps I’ll just continue whining until they all disappear. Sheesh.

Nail Art… my first real attempt

Finally done my first real nail art…

And before you jump, let me warn you that you’ll see a picture of me looking like I’m scratching my nose ;) I was having a hard time getting a clear picture since I only rely to my camera phone and macbook’s photo booth. My camera phone seems so outdated already that’s why I opted to photo booth.

Nail Art

Lately, this is my addiction. It kinda replaced my makeup fetish (temporarily, I’m sure).. Cheaper thrill  I’m trying so hard to really do those fancy nail arts that I see from the fab Jap women, but it’s too difficult…

Here are some I found nice (and easy hopefully)…

Hello Short Hair!

I finally took the courage to cut my hair short… shorter…

I had been wanting to cut my hair short since my 25th birthday coz I want some kind of “reinvention” (which most of the time starts from the hair for some people). Before my 25th last year, I went to a salon and inquired about cutting my hair short, or just leaving it long but curled/permed. On the last minute, I chickened out on the perming and the cutting so my long hair stayed. I guess I felt a little at home with the long hair.

So once again, before I cross-over to the boundaries of mid-20s, I thought about getting my yearly “reinvention”. And this is gonna be big time because I never really had short-hair reinventions before.

Here’s my newer, sleeker look!
