thank you very much to everyone who remembered my 23rd birthday. i am really touched to everyone – old friendships, nff (new found friends), few acquaintances, bosses, who made an effort to text/call or just plainly greet me personally today.

gays and the city

my forever batchmate made a “sonnet” about me. she has been my seatmate and officemate since i started working. well except my last week in pnb, my pc just self-destructed to cause its owner a lot of trouble. apparently it did! and i have to ask my sweetie office mate (thanks corns!) to transfer my hds to some other available workstation where i can finish my pending stuffs. no need for some request for new pc power supply or whatever coz it’s my last week anyway.

as i was saying, about this batchmate of mine (itago na lang natin sa pangalang lyelle jessamyne), we were always exchanging senseless ip messages just to bully each other. they were senseless, but they kept me laughing and in a really good mood all the time (as you know, it’s really very easy to make me laugh). this one here is just recently:

i look at my back

and i see a vak

filling HIS last days

with HIS vakler ways

the “vak” stands for vakler. since that fateful “weather vakler of the week” appeared in inquirer libre, my team has been calling me “vakler” (vaki for short, it is the one that’s frequently used actually). the “his” is emphasized. why? they say i have the heart of a woman but a body of a man. they say i am gay.

babaeng bakla. am i? maybe i am. but don’t be deceived. babae po ako. i may not have the curves and everything but i am a real woman (no objections please! hehe).

gay. acheng, bading, bakla, fairy, shokers… any other terms you have in mind? i am wondering what it’s like if there were no gays in the society. i think it would be really boring. besides the rise of fashion industry (lets admit, gays have a lot of contribution to fashion and beauty), gay people really bring life to our existence. the good thing about it, those pretty women in their 40s, they say that their gay friends keep them look younger. probably because of the laughter gays bring when they’re with you. i then started to count my gay friends.

why are they called “gay” in the first place? shift+f7 in my version of msword has ommitted gay in its word list. so i have to rely on my own vocabulary belief that gay means happy. when you’re gay, you’re happy and glad. when you’re happy, you smile and laugh… and studies show that laughter really keeps you looking young coz of some muscle exercises somewhere in the face. i really didn’t have the time to research about this so if you have some ideas, feel free to comment. anyway, if you know me personally, i admit i have my “gay” ways. i love my gay friends and i love being gay. it just keeps me sane. and i guess it’s a defensive mechanism against the dark forces that run inside my mind. but it really depends on the situation. i consider the environment first before i come out of the box. but still, i am enjoying the gayness! hope you are too! :)
