i tried jogging, didn’t work. swimming, nada.
i was very desperate of finding some physical activity that would keep me physically fit (and thin). aside from the most comments that i receive from my friends (the “tumaba ka”, “bumilog and mukha mo”… comments ), my appetite is getting heavy so i really need to extract some fats out of my body.
and then, there was an announcement in fujitsu that they’re looking for players in the “fun” category for an upcoming badminton tournament. my badminton skills are really not very good. in fact, i really don’t think my skills are not tournament-worthy even for the “fun” category, but i thought, maybe i should try it out… just to force myself to have an exercise. and then, for some unknown reason, they chose me. i don’t expect to play there, hell not yet. i just want to join their drills, practices, etc and learn badminton the hard way.
the day before my first “practice” with the team, i asked 2 of my uber athletic friends (sim and marion) to “train” me. i told sim, i need his skills blah blah blah and a lot more badminton self pity sentiments… he told me, “dont small yourself, you’re our athlete of the year remember…?” wow very encouraging. oo nga naman. but this is different. being a sport enthusiast (not expert) and having an athletic build (yung maskulado, sad to say) would not make you any good… ayun i asked them to just give me a preview of what to expect with training with the experts… they gave me a really short training… the rules, manners, the works… but well, i really can’t absorb them all. so up to now, i’m still a badminton loser. and my php150 racket (bought on sale, but still, it’s chaka) won’t make me one level higher.
first practice with the fujitsu badminton club (the infinity badminton club). it was really embarrassing playing with them. they’re all so good. but well, they’re very accomodating and friendly. i was actually a shy girl there. hehehehe not so me. i was actually more entertained when i watch them play. because when i play, i am so conscious because i am always the cause of the lost.
the team captain even put me in the competitive event (not fun). siguro just to make the fun become “for fun” hehehe… i was so panicky pero buti na lang alternate hehehe! masaya na ko dun. basta i don’t wanna compete yet. and i am so happy that i finally have an exercise sa wakas.
a while ago we had our second practice. at last finally, for the doubles play, i had one game won! i was paired with a very good partner… hehehe…
a fujitsu exec, who plays for the team, taught me some badminton moves. ang bait niya saken. she was my partner a numerous times since i arrived there. she told me that i am wearing the wrong outfit. hehehe.. i was in a jogging pants. she told me that i should be wearing shorts. well, since i admire her dressing skills ever since i first saw her. i will definitely oblige and buy a sexy badminton short/skirt.
embarrassing moment: on my first “conversation” with this fujitsu exec, she went to the bench and asked me.
mam suzette: wanna hit?
oh well enough for now, more updates later.
